52: My friend, Julia Paliare, on living a balanced lifestyle

On this episode, I sit down with my good friend Julia Paliare. She discusses her role as a woman in the corporate finance world, the importance of balance, and her career shifts throughout the finance industry. We talk about how the things that we are passionate about energizes us, and the vitality of making time for the things that better us. She discusses her involvement in philanthropy, and how she leads a goal-oriented life.

Follow Up Q&A:

  1. First thing you do in the morning? Meditate

  2. What advice would you give your younger self? Slow down and trust yourself.  Things unfold in an incredible way when you aren’t trying to control the outcome.  Remember to laugh as much as possible and try not to take life too seriously!

  3. Wellness trend you love and wellness trend you wish would end? Love: Meditation!!  And coaching. End: None that I can think of.  Even if some are ineffective or cheesy, ultimately they’re aimed at self-improvement and longevity.  Any trends that get people thinking about their well-being are positive!

  4. First Job? Structured credit derivatives at Scotiabank

  5. Proudest moment? My half marathon! I overcame a lot of physical (and emotional!) breakdowns to get there and shed so many tears of happiness running across that finish line.

  6. 3 most used emojis? 😆🤪🥰

  7. Favorite ice cream flavor? Van Leeuwen's peanut butter chip and cookie dough

  8. What is the title of your autobiography? This one is hard!!! Let’s go with "Heart" or  "Living on Purpose"

  9. Show you are currently binging? Succession! Thought I would hate it.. but can’t stop.

  10. Who is your spirit animal? A leopard… majestic, elusive and powerful
