64: Eric Posner (@posenosebest), CEO and Co-Founder of Swerve Fitness (@swervefitness)
On this episode I talk to CEO and co-founder of Swerve (@swervefitness), Eric Posner. Eric tells us about his transition from working a corporate job, to co-founding Swerve. We deliberate the trends accompanied with prioritizing mental health, and the benefits of meditation. We talk about Swerve's mission as the first team-based cycling studio, and the accountability and competition it promotes. We elaborate on the importance behind building a community that fosters personal connection, and the future of Swerve.
Follow Up Q&A:
First thing you do in the morning? I'm an acronym guy (they literally got me through college) and I use one as a daily checklist – JPSV: Journal, listen to a Podcast, Sweat (or SWERVE, depending on the day), + take my Vitamins.
What advice would you give your younger self? Advice I still give myself today. Slow down to speed up. Slow down, Pose!!
Wellness trend you love and wellness trend you wish would end? Loving all the science coming out about epigenetics, biohacking & energy healing. Also loving the plant based food products hitting the market that actually taste good (cheeses, yogurts, milks, all things siete brand, etc.). Wellness trends I'm wishing would end - extremists. I'm all about balance.
First Job? I worked at a driving range picking up and cleaning golf balls. It was actually quite peaceful until the golfers succeeded in hitting me while driving the cart :)
Proudest moment? Convincing Megan to marry me.
3 most used emojis? 🙃🕺🏻⚡️
Favorite ice cream flavor? Morgensterns Coconut Espresso and Oddfellow's Milk & Cookies.
Night time routine? A typical night consists of taking my dog (@futurethehound) to the dog park in Dumbo, cooking dinner, then either reading or playing Megan in Chinese checkers (we battle).
Sweet or savory? Sweet. One of the big reasons I started a gym.
Show you are currently binging? Sorry for the SWERVE plug, but one of SWERVE's OG instructors (James Scully) landed a top role in the Netflix show YOU, so I've been binge watching that one. It's been pretty surreal watching him (as Forty Quinn) on the big screen and also shining up as an up and coming actor. He's currently in between shows and has been guest teaching classes which has been a lot of fun.
